A Note From Bline -Posted by: Admin
Mrbline - Heretic For Religious TruthWell people, AOL has finally done it! They even ran off one of the finest examples of a "true christian" individual that I believe i've ever met.

To me, I would think this should throw up a flag that there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with this so called "New Improved AOL"..........

Below is the email I received from Bline about AOL. Hopefully he will still stay in touch, because I for one will greatly miss his articles and his stance on religion as a whole!

From: MRBline:

Just wanted to drop a short note letting you guys know I will be changing my email address and no longer be a member of AOL on or before of June 22. I am not sure if we will be canceling our account itself, because Nasty and I have not finished discussing all our options, but I know for me it is time to move on.

Over the past couple years I have come to see an increasing trend in AOL's management of its service which favors a select social-religious perspective, empowers them to discriminate against all who do not agree. In direct violation of its own membership agreement, AOL allows harassment, intimidation, and degradation of many fine people based on their religion, sexual orientation, and sometimes race . . . a practice I find appalling not to mention unconstitutional. The CAT team at AOL has now become involved, enabling the group to suspend and/or terminate accounts while it remains unscathed for far worse behavior. AOL promises a service where issues can be freely discussed; they can no longer be freely discussed. AOL promises a service free from harassment due to cloning, personal attacks, posting of hate speech in chats, profiles, emails, and IM's; only a specific group enjoys full protection, while all others are punished at the slightest hint of possible offense.

To continue to use AOL says I support the practice.

I do not.

While I will miss certain aspects of my time at AOL, I have to stand by what is right, and this is definitely not right. I also plan on pursuing my options with the ACLU against AOL, but also realize it will be a tough sell (mention chat room in the real world and 99 times out of 100 you get looked at as if you are a nut). Hopefully I can find the right combination of words to make a good case. If something comes of it I'll let you guys know.

Love to you all.
