| Rants: BUYER BEWARE! | 
Recently, I have gone through a very trying experience with a seller on EBay in dealing with a rather expensive purchase I made that was damaged in shipping. The package was insured, but unknown to me at the time, the insurance which I paid for as part of the shipping cost was purchased and made payable to the seller, and not to me as the buyer. The seller has already been paid in full by me BEFORE the package is even shipped, so stands to suffer no loss in the transaction what so ever.
To clarify for you: What this means is that UPS sends the seller the insurance payment for the merchandise and in turn expects you to relinquish the merchandise to them with NO COMPENSATION in your hands for your merchandise and NO GUARANTEE that you will be reimbursed for either your merchandise nor the money that you already paid for it. Remember, the seller gets the insurance payment, not you! This makes NO SENSE! The seller has already been paid for the merchandise when you bought it, and the only one who has suffered a loss is YOU, the buyer!
Think about this... if you paid a large amount of money to someone on EBay for merchandise, and you do not know this person except for your dealings on EBay, would YOU be inclined to give up the only collateral you had on the HOPES that the seller will actually send you the insurance payment? Even though that MONTHS had passed since the purchase while you are trying to deal with UPS on the claim, and you have NO recourse nor hopes of recouping your payment from EBay or PayPal either one? REMEMBER, you gave up the merchandise, so you're standing there empty handed with NOTHING! UPS refuses to talk to you about the claim because you're NOT the insured party.
To make matters even worse, the seller refuses to allow you to return the merchandise to them for credit to your account even though they have already been advised by UPS that they WOULD BE PAID for it. What are you going to do now? As it currently stands, all you have for your money is a damaged package. Once you release that, you have NOTHING!
ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE IT UP? Think seriously about it!
There are many honest sellers on EBay, and this is not intended to reflect badly on them! HOWEVER, there are also those on EBay who would take advantage of just such a situation to be paid twice for their merchandise and leave you stuck out in the cold. You know,... I was born,... but not yesterday!
You should also be aware that if the insurance is not purchased in YOUR name, UPS WILL NOT even discuss the claim with you, even though YOU paid for BOTH the merchandise and the insurance! Believe me on this, I know from experience!
I have learned from dealing with UPS on this claim that the seller has the option to purchase the insurance in the BUYERS name, and thereby having the payment sent directly to the buyer. In this case, the seller has no further obligations to you, the buyer, since you will be able to directly deal with UPS yourself. My suggestions to you is that IF you buy something from an EBay seller that is of a high value and is insured, you REQUEST from the seller UP FRONT BEFORE YOU PAY that the insurance be purchased IN YOUR NAME to prevent yourself from being put in a similar situation!
In closing- remember the old saying... LET THE BUYER BEWARE!

| Rants: On the third day... god created idiots???? |
Lately, there has been quite the scandal in the news concerning the Evolution vs. Creationism issue. On one hand, we have science, which is basing its arguments on historical findings, carbon dating, discovery of fossilized and frozen remains of Homo Erectus, Cromagnon, Neanderthal, and even older decendants of man, and the study of the actual formation of new stars and planets through the use of modern scientific tools.
On the other hand, we have the church, the die hard conservative religious right wingers, and the parents who fill the minds of their offspring with whatever they feel best fits their own needs and what they believe most benefits the upcoming lives of their children.
The question here is, at what point does it stop being helpful, and actually become a hinderance? At what point does reality become nothing more than a dream and the benefit of the child become nothing but a lesson in falsehood, make believe, and simply shadowing them in a fantasy world?
I recently read a news article in which parents, teachers, and school officials were putting stickers on biology books regarding evolution as nothing more than a theory, and advising their children to regard it as such in spite of the evidence presented to them through science and discovery. The problem arises due to the fact that if these people admit any legitimacy to the scientific proof found through research, they in turn decimate the whole stance they fight to support with the creationism hypothesis and the bible's account of the genesis of man. They willingly toss aside common sense and science to hold fast to their faith no matter how ridiculous or impossible it may be. They grasp their bibles firmly in both hands, literally clenching until their knuckles turn white, and fervently voice their disbelief that the bible could possibly, just possibly be nothing more than a book, a set of texts penned to give a false sense of hope. A book created to establish guidelines, rules if you will, towards a moral standard with hopes that people will base their lives on them to maintain some sense of order and conformity in their day to day lives. To disregard the hypothesis of creationism, no matter how profoundly silly it may appear, would in effect void the validity of the book they grasp so dearly while professing it as the infallable word of the almighty creator.
They claim that the book is the absolute source, the final word of god! Anyone not in 100 percent agreement is shunned as a blasphemer, doomed to the Lords vengeance and wrath, condemned to eternity in the firey pit of darkness and despair forever. They turn their backs on science and knowledge without a second thought, and resort to blind faith as an escape from reality. They crawl back into the shell they have created to shield themselves and their children from the realization that the world is not perfect, and life itself is a struggle just to survive. They do not wish their children to know just how fragile life is. Shielded from the knowledge that at the blink of an eye, life as we know it could be ended. They refuse to accept the fact that from the point of conception, our lives are ending. With every passing second the clock is ticking away towards the day we all die. Nobody knows how long this life may last, be it years, or even a matter of hours or seconds, life still approaches the ultimate end... death.
Note: The obsession in religion encouraged me to write this piece. While this is only my personal view, my hopes are that the readers may take a moment to examine their own lives for signs of the sanctimonious obsession that is being displayed in the world today, and to identify these traits and try to retain some logic when examining ANY interpretation on religion as a whole. Although I try to maintain a sense of humor in the text, these issues are VERY real, and can be VERY detrimental to life and family. |

OR-
2) You are a typical illiterate moron who has no idea what you are reading, yet try to put up a front to cover for your inadequacies, much like a canned hymn spouter. This would be one who memorizes certain texts to give the impression of actually having read the book (or page, or paper, or whatever the case may be), and thereby is a self appointed authority without taking the time to gain knowledge.

| Rants: AOL is at it AGAIN! | Greetings! You at AOL seem to have a REAL problem there! You REALLY should get all your CAT team members to follow the SAME guidelines. It's getting rather old having our chatroom delisted by one member, only to be re-evaluated and re-allowed by another, then just to be de-listed again.
Please refer to YOUR OWN guidelines, and quit all the messing with our room, please? This is getting ridiculous! It seems that AOL has NO religious tolerance, and while the christian users can express their opinions, we are not allowed to express ours, in spite of the fact that we FOLLOW AOL'S GUIDELINES about addressing a SUBJECT rather than an INDIVIDUAL or GROUP! By your own rules, you so valiantly admit that content is different in certain areas, and we are not being disrespectful, yet you seem to ONLY back the christian element.
I would truly like to address this issue with a supervisor, and have this mess cleared up once and for all, since the reoccurrences seem to be getting more and more frequent.

| Rants: "Jesus Speaks!" JesusClickedMe, that is! | One day I was checking my emails, deleting all of the porn spam actually, and I came across one that had "Fwd:(Jesus)" on the subject line. Normally I don't respond to emails from people that I don't know but I felt the need to look at and then respond to this one. It was an email talking about how I should ask christ to be in my heart and that sort of thing. I am sick and tired of these idiotic godlodytes thinking that they just aren't getting the message out. I mean, for crying out loud, there's a church within five minutes from every place in this country with a population of twenty people.
People always ask me "why don't you attack other religions?" My response, because they (christians) are the only cult that knocks on my door and sends me email, not to mention all of the people I run across that just have to bring up their "relationship" with the dead myth on a stick. I'm almost to the point that I'm fed up.
Do I go door to door telling people NOT to worship the warped buybull god? I can answer that with a resounding NO. I couldn't care less what deity-myth a person worships, so why is it that they are so damned concerned about my choice or lack thereof? I feel that the teaching of cult beliefs to a minor should be outlawed in this country but we do have the right to worship as we wish and I am willing to defend that right to the bitter end because I, unlike many of my peers, do believe in this country. All I would ask in return from anyone is to have the same right and also for all others to defend my right to not believe. But until the christcult members understand that part of freedom I will feel the need to write rants like this one.
It's very sad that people don't understand that freedom goes both ways, you must sometimes defend what you are against to insure that you will be guaranteed your own personal rights. I guess what I am really trying to say here is that everyone should respect others rights especially when it comes to religion.
Just because you think that there is a certain god doesn't mean that the Hindu across town believes in that god, nor does the Buddhist around the block and the same with the atheists, pagans, Muslims or one of the other countless "religions" in the world. I am proud of the fact that I am an atheist although I don't necessarily wear it on my sleeve because of the simple fact that christians seem to have this undeniable urge to torment and despise you for whatever your choice is that doesn't concur with theirs. And one last thing, for those that ask me "why do I attack christians?" I say that when a Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu or any other non-christian cult based faith knocks on my door, then I'll lay into them as well.
In closing I would like to say, the godbots of the world should wake up and smell the excrement they are shoveling in the direction of the rest of the world. If they weren't so full of it then maybe there wouldn't be a need for the shovel.

| Rants: Christian Bullshit! | Purpose. This page is dedicated to debunking the favorite myths of Xian fundamentalists and some others concerning Xianity and atheism. Too much misinformation is floating around and this is just a list of some to clarify facts as they actually are. You might call it "Heathen FAQ".
Defining Terms.
"Xian" is a common name free thinkers use for "Christian." The "X" in "Xian" replaces "Christ" in "Christian" just as "Xmas" does for "Christmas". Using this method my name would be "Xopher".
"Fundy" or "Fundie" is a religious fundamentalist.
"Theist" one who believes in a god of creation.
"Sheep" is a slang word for fundamentalists and anyone else who follows along blindly with something they have been told without bothering to investigate or even question it. It seemingly never occurs to Xian sheep that they are Xians simply because they were brought up in Xian households in a predominantly Xian country and that if they had been born to devout Muslims in Iran they would probably think Xianity was so much horse shit.
"God" is the god of the Christian religion. Yahweh is another name for him.
"god" is any of the other gods which Christians claim are "false".
"There are no atheists in foxholes." This one is acutely annoying for me because I was in Uncle Sam's Misguided Children (USMC) in the infantry and now I'm a cop. I've had my share of close calls and "Level 10 Pucker Factor" incidents and calling on a god just never came to mind. My partner was in The Corps in Vietnam in the infantry and according to him, he never saw any gods or called on any. He managed to live through the ordeal and come away with a Bronze Star and two Enemy Marksmanship medals (Purple Hearts). Not only was he an atheist in a foxhole, but he was a bona fide hero to boot. I know seven other heathens at the dept. I work at and they've never "called His name" either. Isn't it funny that every damn Fundy will spout this shit off but will never bother to consider if it is even slightly based in fact. I have also discussed this with countless heathens online and I have yet to meet one who went through rough times or a near death experience and called on any god.

And those sonsabitches who preached, taught, assisted, and/or encouraged her to pray over her sick child instead of taking him to the hospital should be locked up and put on trial as co-defendants in that murder.
What's even more fucked up is that we know all about these fuckers. We know where these fucktards are. It's not like they're hiding. They openly admit to abusing their kids in the name of a loving god, so why the ***** do we sit back and wait until they kill some poor little bastard before we do anything? Where the hell is the prevention? Where the hell is the FBI to investigate, infiltrate, prosecute, and obliterate these sick, organized crime, pieces of shit?
How long is this shit going to be allowed to go on? How many more children are we going to bury?
